Did You Know?

In June 2024, there were almost 10 million people experiencing food poverty in the UK, including 2.7 million children. This had increased significantly from 2022/23, when the figure was 7.2 million people, 11% of the UK population.

In 2024, Huddled Group donated and distributed over 500,000 items to food poverty charities, including 6,500 boxes of Nestlé Baby Rice, valued at over £30,000.

Over the three years between May 2021 and May 2024 food prices rose by 30.6%. It previously took over 13 years, from January 2008 to May 2021, for average food prices to rise by the same amount. March 2023 saw the highest rate of increase in food prices since 1977.

In 2024, Huddled Group helped over 250,000 households across the UK to better cope with the rising cost of living by turning surplus stock into spectacular savings, providing perfectly good products at heavily discounted prices.

A 2023 survey in the UK revealed that average consumers spent over £4,600 per year on wellness and self-care. A 2020 survey indicated that around 48% of UK consumers’ annual spending on wellness products and services went towards health products.
